In partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Department of the Interior, and the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, we bring you an exclusive glimpse into the ongoing Deepwater Horizon oil spill restoration efforts.

Audubon Aquarium proudly presents corals from the Gulf of Mexico’s Mesophotic and Deep Benthic Communities, showcased for the first time ever. Marvel at species like Swiftia exserta, Muricea pendula, and Thesea nivea, that thrive in the twilight zones of the ocean.

Interactive Learning

Play scientist and try your hand at underwater surveys of deep seafloor habitats. Using real video clips and field guides, can you identify what lives in the depths of the Gulf? Learn about the tools and technology used to explore and restore the deep sea, and watch captivating videos of corals, creatures, and science at sea. Take a selfie with our giant coral art wall or Gulf of Mexico map and learn more about seafloor mapping with a 3D seafloor model.
