Mangshan Pit Vipers use their conspicuously colored tail tips as a deceptive lure to attract prey by wriggling it like a worm or caterpillar.
Size: As one of the largest Asian pit vipers, this species can reach up to 7 feet in total length.
Typical Lifespan: It is unclear how long this species can live, but it is suspected to be capable of reaching ages of 25 years or more.

Restricted to a single mountain chain in the protected Mangshan National Forest Park in eastern China
